Using a powder blush in a similar hue, blot your lips. This sets your lipstick and prevents those pesky colour bleeds; also, the colour will be the same as your lipstick, making this a more foolproof method than blotting your lips with powder.

Make any regular lipstick into a matte version. Cover your lips with a tissue after applying lipstick. Remove the tissue by dusting it with powder. The powder blends in delicately with the tissue, giving you a matte finish!
